Small Town Living

Since we moved to Erie a little more than a year ago I've complained (a little) about how small it is here. I didn't realize I was more of a "city" girl. As I was reading our newspaper tonight I was reading the part about the recent "police activity" and this is what it said:

On Sunday November 2, an Erie police officer responded to a 911 hang-up call from the 1800 block of Alpine Drive, The officer contacted a 5-year-old male who was playing with the telephone.

HA HA HA...I had to laugh because that was the only thing listed in the paper....too funny. Plus I know a bunch of people on Alpine Drive so fess up if it was your 5-year-old male!

At least you know you can let your kids run around and not worry too much! :) As long as there is a Walmart, then the town isn't too small. :)

Well if you think that is good just read our recent headline (front page) in the Rexburg Standard Journal... "Scavanger Hunt leads to proposal at the Rexburg Temple!" Now that is BAD...yes there are still a few college cheeseballs here. But you got to admit it is nice to be in a small town that you feel safe in with kids!

Hi Adrienne and Travis. I love your blog. You have such a nice family. Little Sadie is adorable. I bet she will be protected by her older brothers when she gets older. Thanks for keeping us in touch. We love you! Aunt Heidi & Uncle Steve

That is so funny because my 18month old just did that a few days ago. The cops showed up at me house. Freaked me out and now he is not allowed to play with the phone.

This just happened to a friend from Cali. So funny! It happened to us when we moved in. The police officer showed up and wanted to "look around." I explained it was the baby (who was actually still holding the phone) and told him he could pitch in and help the movers if he wanted to. Kids are great! How else would we be able to bond with our local police being such upstanding Mormons?
